This former yakuza has just been free after 13 years in prison, but the outside world is even crueler. He struggles to find work, adapt to social norms, and—most painfully—search for his mother who he lost as a child. With an unlikely ally, he tries to find a place in society, but this road full of obstacles is never as easy as it seems.
