The Pawnbroker

In the midst of the slums of New York, Sol Nazerman, a cold and aloof Jewish pawnbroker, harbors deep wounds as an Auschwitz survivor. Losing family, faith, and humanity, he only cares about money, while flashes of the past haunt him. His assistant, Jesus Ortiz, wants to learn from him, but when Sol learns that the illegal business he is running is connected to the world of prostitution, the trauma of his wife's fate in a concentration camp explodes. Tragedy was inevitable, forcing him to face long-buried emotions.
