Nick Lang, a Hollywood action movie star, wants to experience the real life of a detective for his new role. He forces Lt. John Moss, a disgruntled New York cop, to become his unofficial mentor. While Nick is busy with his action fantasies, Moss is trying to catch a cold-blooded killer. Their differences spark hilarious comedy, but when real danger lurks, Nick must choose: remain a star or help Moss solve the case.
