Amid the chaos of the 1968 Democratic Party Convention in Chicago, activists such as Tom Hayden and Abbie Hoffman's radical Yippies ran afoul of local authorities, sparking bloody riots. Seven people were accused of conspiracy by the repressive Nixon administration, including Bobby Seale of the uninvolved Black Panthers. In a trial presided over by biased Judge Hoffman, they face unfair charges with prosecutor Richard Schultz divided. Although they were defended by pro bono lawyers, their defense continued to be weakened by the Yippies' provocative actions and injustice towards Seale. Ideological clashes threaten, but they know: unite or perish.
