Bruno and Sonia, a young couple living on the fringes of the law, have just had a baby named Jimmy. Bruno, who is reluctant to work and prefers to make a living from petty crime, makes a terrible decision: he sells Jimmy to the black market without Sonia's knowledge. When Sonia learns the truth, she faints from shock. Bruno, now terrified of the consequences of his actions, tries to get their baby back—but money isn't the only problem. Sonia's trust is shattered, and Bruno must face the fact that returning everything to normal is not as easy as he thought. Can a selfish father really make amends?
