Lora, an ambitious actress, and Annie, a black single mother, form an unlikely friendship in New York. However, both fail to understand their daughters: Susie, who is neglected and Sarah Jane, who hates her racial identity. The conflict escalates as Sarah Jane continually denies her blood, while Annie struggles to maintain her self-esteem. A sad story about love, betrayal, and the price of a fake life.
