A scientific expedition on the Amazon River discovers a living fossil—Gill-Man, an ancient creature from the legendary Black Lagoon. When the researchers caught him, the monster managed to escape and returned to kidnap Kay, the fiancee of one of the team members, who apparently had captured his heart. Adventure turns to terror when Gill-Man targets them in dark waters full of mystery. Who will survive the clutches of this creature?
