In "Barren Land" (2025), three friends, Mateo, Juan, and Benito, are caught in a deadly conflict in southern Spain. They have to face the cruelty of the narcotics trade and the pervasive social dissatisfaction. As a bailiff, Benito is caught between law enforcement and criminals, while their friendship is tested as their life paths begin to diverge. The question is, can their friendship survive amidst the destruction?
